The club’s 50th anniversay celebrations took place over the weekend of June 18th and 19th.
Saturday saw racing dinghies dressed as pirate ships, highland transport and various other disguises. Members enjoyed fun races such as tug of war and despite the weather great fun was had by all.
On Saturday night we had a barbeque and were entertained by Bev May whose cheerful songs had those who lasted the evening all on the dance floor.
On Sunday there were over twenty boats crammed onto the short startline for the Gold Cup and racing commenced with a fine demonstration of how not to do a port hand flyer by John Putt in his Albacore! The varied boats had some close racing with the event finally being won by Leon Ward in the Roooster 8.1. Colin Singer took the classic boats award with his Enterprise.
Thanks to all who helped to make the weekend such a success.
