Message from Richard Fear, Commodore

Welcome to the Shearwater Sailing Club web site. We are a friendly, family orientated dinghy sailing club with the aim of promoting the sport of dinghy sailing and racing from beginner to competitive club racer. We sail on the picturesque Shearwater Lake at Crockerton, near Warminster, with the kind permission of the seventh Marquis of Bath. Please download our brochure for an overview of the club and our activities. We are open to new members for the 2010 season which includes a varied fixtures list and active social calendar. Membership is open to all, including non sailing members, and the cost is kept as low as possible to encourage access to the lake. We are registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club and affiliated to the Royal Yachting Associating. Although we can not offer formal sailing lessons, we do provide a supportive environment for anyone who is new to sailing, wanting to start racing, or simply looking to improve their sailing skills. Interested in joining? Then you are most welcome to come along to the club and chat with us on a club sailing day - Sundays and most Tuesday evenings from early March to end of November. Alternatively you can e-mail me or one of the committee members. Our membership forms and fees can be downloaded here. I look forward to meeting you at the club and on the water in 2010.

Sailing on Shearwater

The Estate requires that every boat that is sailed on Shearwater be issued with a licence to sail. The Estate on payment of a fee will grant the Licence and a boat cannot be sailed on Shearwater unless the member has a licence for that particular boat.
