INTERESTED IN JOINING SHEARWATER SAILING CLUB?
Now you have looked through the website and have some idea of the Club, you really should visit the Lake. The best time is during any Sunday, when the club is most active and you will always have willing committee or members to talk with.

Sunday race days take place from  March to  November. You may well find someone on other days, especially on Tuesday evenings during May/August when we run a popular race series - often followed by a drink and sailing chat at the local pub.

If however you are unable to visit but would like more information please do not hesitate to call Richard Fear- Club Commodore, Diana Walker - Hon. Membership Secretary, or any other committee member as listed on our Committee page.

New Members Joining Fees
There are various categories of membership so choose that best suited to your sailing and/or family requirements:

Individual Membership £35
Married or Partnership Couple £40
Family - Married/Partnership Couple with children under the age of 16 (as of 1st Jan) £45
Junior/Student - under 16 or in full time further education on 1st Jan of membership year £15
Social and Group membership available on application to the Membership Secretary

A Sailing Licence has to be obtained from Longleat Estate for each boat sailed. Boats cannot be sailed without a licence. These cost £52.87 (including VAT) for the first boat and £35.25 (including VAT) for each further boat and are only available to Shearwater Sailing Club members.

For the first year only new members are obliged to pay an additional joining fee equal to 50% of the appropriate membership category requested.

To berth a boat in the 'dinghy park' the cost is £25-00. See application form or contact Margaret Pell, Officer i/c Dinghy Park.
